Guide to the University Archive

Purpose

The Purdue Global University Archive (PGUA) expands visibility and access to the scholarly output of our university’s academic community by showcasing its works, activities, and history.

Scope

Contributors to the PGUA include all faculty and staff with academic roles.  Other contributors like graduate students, undergraduate students, and alumni may also submit if the work meets the review criteria for a specific community or collection and the work was completed at the university.

As a new institutional repository founded in 2019, the UA will first focus on gathering and curating faculty work.  The PGUA will over time offer collections focused on institutional history, research output from the entire community, certain types of student work, proceedings from conferences hosted by the university and its schools, department publications, and more.

Benefits of Contributing Your Work

By submitting to the PG University Archive, you are participating in the greater scholarly communication and publication world shared by all academic institutions.  Adding your content to the University Archive improves the digital preservation of your work at the university, provides open access to your work (when possible) and is an opportunity for you to add to the reputation of the university.  Documents added to the repository also have a persistent, durable link you can use and cite in your own professional development.
