On Mendeley Web, you can add research articles to your library by searching Mendeley’s crowd-sourced Research Catalog, which includes millions of papers. You can also browse by a desired discipline by selecting the Advanced search link.
Any time you add papers to your Mendeley Web library or group, you can download PDF document to your Mendeley Desktop library. Mendeley Desktop has a built-in PDF viewer which allows you to open multiple documents at a time, and add annotations and highlights to your PDF documents. After you’ve worked on a paper, be sure to click ‘sync’ in your Mendeley library, so that your changes are sent back to the server for your fellow group members to see. You cannot edit PDF documents on Mendeley Web.

When signing into Mendeley Web, your account opens to the Mendeley Dashboard. Selecting the library link from the dashboard opens a new window. Your Mendeley Web library looks similar to your desktop library.
There are three types of groups:
Mendeley Groups help you connect to people and share references. You can search for groups by keyword, or browse groups by discipline. You can create and manage groups in Mendeley Desktop as well as on Mendeley Web. Add documents to a group by dragging and dropping them into the group folder.
