Searching for psychological tests and measures

Please note that the PG Library does not maintain an online collection of standardized tests.

There are often publisher copyright and licensing restrictions to these tests which restrict access. These restrictions are related to reproducing the tests.  Additionally commercial psychological tests and measures require a fee to access them that can be quite cost prohibitive to students and likely require professional credentials to access.

There is quite a bit of information about the tests and measurements in published articles that the library does have access to. Below are search suggestions in several databases the PG Library subscribes to.

  • PsycARTICLES:  In the top search box put "appended" and then select Tests & Measures from the drop-down menu to the right of the search box. This will narrow your search to articles with tests appended. Use additional search boxes to add keywords.
  • Medline Ultimate:  Try searching by MeSH (medical subject headings) terms such as Surveys and Questionnaires and Psychological Tests.
  • Cinahl UltimateSearch/browse in the "IN Instrumentation" field. This will find articles that used a particular test.
  • ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global: Tests may be included as part of a dissertation/theses.

Search the databases with these subject headings for books about and/or including tests and measures:

  • Educational tests and measurements
  • Mental illness -- Diagnosis -- Handbooks, manuals, etc
  • Personality tests
  • Personality assessment
  • Psychological assessment
  • Psychological tests
