For some users, EBSCO Discovery and EBSCO databases can result in an error message when using OpenAthens to authenticate. You may see an OpenAthens error message of "Looping - SP redirecting back to the login point" when trying to authenticate. We are aware of the issue and working with EBSCO and OpenAthens support on a resolution. At this time, no other databases are affected.
We have confirmation from several students that clearing cookies in Chrome resolved the issue for them. Here are the steps to follow:
In Google Chrome, at the top right, click the "three dots" menu and then choose the option to "Delete Browsing Data."
In the next window, click the option to delete "Cookies and other site data."
Click the "Delete Data" button.
Restart Google Chrome (fully close it and reopen it).
Navigate directly to library.purdueglobal.eduand then conduct a search with the search box on our homepage. The search box leads to EBSCO Discovery.
You can find more information about clearing cookies and using Chrome's Incognito mode on the Library's FAQ. Read the "How do I clear cookies or use Chrome's Incognito Mode?" FAQ. Incognito mode is a good second step to try, as it not only blocks cookies but also plugins, and while not confirmed, a plugin like an ad-blocker may be causing the issue.
If clearing cookies and the above doesn't help, use these alternative links to EBSCO Discovery and EBSCO databases to conduct your research:
